Throat Chakra Healing
Confession time.
By the time we arrived at EarthSpirit I’d already been working with several of the essential oils we used in a program called Rosa Mystica.
It’s a year-long journey where we go through the seven major chakras one by one, with these exquisite oils as both teacher and catalyst for healing.
During my time in Avalon we were in the temple of Truth, the throat chakra. Vishuddha, Sanskrit for ‘pure’ or ‘purification,’ is the chakra that relates to communication, self-expression, and our ability to speak our truth in the world.
As part of our homework for the month we were to find an ancestral stone, discover what in our family line needed to be healed, give that to the stone, and then bury it by a tree where the earth would help us heal and transmute it.
Although I did look casually in Montreal I knew I’d be finding my stone in England. I mean, of course it would be on my ancestral lands.
On my first (solo) visit to the Chalice Well, as i was preparing to leave a butterfly (photo above) suddenly caught my attention and I followed it. In flew down along a path of stones and voilà, this small coral rock “jumped” out at me.
I took it with me, knowing that at some point the time to bury it would present itself.
That moment came the day after my incredible anointing session. We had a few hours to ourselves in the afternoon and I suddenly remembered the stone and knew that it was time.
I took it over to the forest behind the retreat center and walked around slowly. I connected with the stone, asking what it was that our line needed to heal.
“Silence.”
As in, the women in our line had been silenced. It was time to set our voices free.
I saw another butterfly then, and followed it to a tree that was ready to accept the stone. As I thought of all the women on my mother’s side I buried it there.
Nature speaks. And nature wants to help us heal.
